Sweet Red Bean Fish @ Han Ah Reum Mart (Union Street)

I was shopping at Han Ah Reum Mart at Union Street when I stumbled upon a small snack outlet in the supermarket. The tempting and delicious aroma spread throughout the supermarket but you cannot help but follow the smell to the simple booth at the far end of the supermarket. Price : Value for money. Five pieces at at $4. Quality : A simple snack made from flour and moist red bean paste will be something I love each time I visit H-Mart. The five pieces of red bean fishes were shared between the two of us. Store layout : A simple booth that sells various pastries. But the sweet red bean pastry aroma caught my senses and got me addicted to it.  "You will love it." Where : Han Ah Reum Mart, 29-02 Union Street  Tel : 718-445-5656 Website : http://www.hmart.com/ourstore/ourstore_main.asp#ny Overall rating: 4.5/5

Frozen Yogurt @ Red Mango

Another frozen yogurt chain store, Red Mango, opened along Roosevelt Ave at about one minute’s walk from its competitor – Pinkberry . A different concept from Pinkberry, Red Mango has more seats for customers to rest and enjoy the refreshing frozen yogurt. In comparison, Pinkberry , with a narrow stall space, is more suitable for takeaways. Founded in 2002 in South Korea, the giant Frozen Yogurt chain entered the US market in July 2007 and is the first retailer of frozen yogurt to receive the National Yogurt Association’s Live and Active Culture Seal. Yogurt is good for you. Burnt by the blazing sun, my husband and I decided to check out Red Mango outlet along Roosevelt Ave and enjoy the frozen yogurt. Price : We ordered a large cup of Original frozen yogurt with three toppings – grapes, mango and watermelon at around $9.00. The toppings were generous. Quality : The toppings were very fresh. A fussy person when it comes to fruits, I enjoyed every mouthful of frozen yogurt and...

Froyo @ Pinkberry [Closed]

Summer is here! Nothing beats anything else than having an ice cream or popsicle. However, in Flushing, there is an increasing popularity for frozen yogurt where two new joints along Roosevelt Ave were opened earlier this year. For my first blog post, I like to share my food quest at Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt. I observed that there are always customers at the outlet. This is apparently so because the outlet is about less than a five-minute walk from Flushing Main Street Subway. At Pinkberry, there are three yogurt flavors like plain, green tea and coffee and a wide variety of topping from nuts, chocolates to fruits. I took a longer time to decide the toppings for my frozen yogurt.  Price : The price for for the plain yogurt is around US$4 with each topping at US$0.95. I ordered a smallest cup with two toppings as shown in the picture below. It costs me about US$6.  Quality : The yogurt is okay. As for the toppings, I go for the chocolate chip and roasted almond slice...
