Oyaku Don @ West Udon [Closed]

We wanted to try something different from the last rice bowl we tried the last time at West Udon. We chose Half Oyaku Don from the menu. Oyaku Don is cooked with chicken thighs, eggs, soy sauce, mirin sauce, sugar and sake.

Price: Reasonably priced for one. Suitable for children, adults with small stomachs or for sampling.

Quality: The ingredients were freshly prepared but were a little too bland for my taste. You may want to try Oyaku Don.

Store layout: The restaurant has a typical Japanese layout concept with wooden furniture and paper lamps. The store is strategically located along Union Street and Northern Blvd. You will not miss it.

"here is the restaurant across Northern Blvd along Union Street"

"looks great on the outside, so-so in the inside"

Where: West Udon, 137-80 Northern Blvd
Tel: 718-359-2324
Website: NA
Overall rating: 2.5/5

Bar Lounge with Oriental Feel @ TMSK [Closed]

My friend and I found a bar lounge at the newly opened Queens Crossing Mall, Flushing Queens. Ms Yang Hui Shan, owner and former Taiwanese Golden Horse Award Winner, has a vision to create an ultra hip bar lounge made entirely out of colored glass. There was also a TMSK in Shanghai. China. There were excellent reviews from various websites, which made us give the lounge a try:  http://www.worldsbestbars.com/city/shanghai/tou-ming-si-kao-tmsk-shanghai.htm http://www.yelp.com/biz/mulan-flushing#hrid:Q3MH2iHCVkZZ2eHfCX9ahg/query:tmsk Price : Affordable. We ordered a Volka Orange and Dry Martini at $18. Quality : The drinks tasted great. The glassware was so beautiful. Store layout : The lounge had a very chic, yet oriental theme. We loved the place very much that we would definitely come again to chill out.  "This was a bar counter. They looked very beautiful that created a chillax ambience... Froyo @ Pinkberry [Closed]

Summer is here! Nothing beats anything else than having an ice cream or popsicle. However, in Flushing, there is an increasing popularity for frozen yogurt where two new joints along Roosevelt Ave were opened earlier this year. For my first blog post, I like to share my food quest at Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt. I observed that there are always customers at the outlet. This is apparently so because the outlet is about less than a five-minute walk from Flushing Main Street Subway. At Pinkberry, there are three yogurt flavors like plain, green tea and coffee and a wide variety of topping from nuts, chocolates to fruits. I took a longer time to decide the toppings for my frozen yogurt.  Price : The price for for the plain yogurt is around US$4 with each topping at US$0.95. I ordered a smallest cup with two toppings as shown in the picture below. It costs me about US$6.  Quality : The yogurt is okay. As for the toppings, I go for the chocolate chip and roasted almond slice...

FEATURE - Frozen Yogurt : Comparison Chart

After trying out the two frozen yogurt dessert chains in Flushing, Queens, I made a comparison between the two popular froyo brands - Pinkberry and Red Mango .
