Peking Duck-to-go @ Corner 28 [Moved]

As I walked down along Main Street, I found a Cantonese restaurant - Corner 28 - selling Peking Duck. The restaurant is situated between 40th Street and Main Street. You can definitely spot the place almost immediately. Corner 28 sells Peking Duck at 75cents per piece. Wrapped between a lotus-shaped wheat bun and stuffed with finely chopped onions and cucumber and hoisin sauce, it brought out the nice flavor of Peking Duck. I ordered eight pieces at $6.

Peking Duck is a national symbol of China favored by officials and tourists. It is also part of the imperial menu and upper class since the Yuan Dynasty.

Price: Affordable. Every piece of Peking Duck is priced at 75cents. I was stuffed after eating four pieces.

Quality: Excellent quality. The crunchiness of the cucumber and spring onions made Peking Duck delicious and mouth-watering. I was not sick of the food after the fourth piece. Yummy!!

Store layout: Peking Duck can be bought at the little window outside the restaurant along Main Street. You can buy the delicacy without queuing at the narrow aisle in the restaurant.

"mouth-watering Peking Duck that no one can resist!! Yummy!!!"

"the restaurant is along Main Street."

"look out for the ordering window"

Crispy Pepper Skin Duck @ Joes Shanghai Restaurant

Enclaved in the tranquil 37th Ave, Joe's Shanghai is one of the longest running and popular Chinese restaurant in Flushing Queens. I happened to hear very good reviews from friends and decided to check out the place. Price : Expensive for a half of a scrawny and dry duck priced more than $10. I could have bought a fat and succulent duck from elsewhere. Quality : The name of this dish sounded very interesting at that time. ‘Crispy’ and ‘Pepper’ are the two keywords that attracted me to make such an order. When the dish was served, I was very disappointed. The duck was small like the size of a pigeon. The flesh was dry and there was no crispiness and pepper in or on the duck. All I could taste was salt and more salt. Forgettable dish. In the end, we drank lots of water and tea to quench our thirst. Store layout : A montage of pictures taken with famous celebrities will greet you when you enter the restaurant. The staff will hand you a queue number. The restaurant is

Deep Fried Spicy Chicken Strips @ Sago Café [Closed]

Bubble tea is not uncommon at Flushing, Queens. Bakeries, restaurants, cafes and even small food joints alike were selling bubble tea. Bubble tea is originated in Taiwan in the 1980s. I decided to try out one of the bubble tea joints – Sago Tea Café in the neighbourhood. Other than serving iced beverages,  Sago Café  also served food and snacks. Price : Reasonably affordable.  Quality : The spicy chicken strips with lemon juice were tasty. It was a great snack to share with a group of your friends. Store layout : The store was strategically located diagonally across the Main Street Subway Station. There are two doors in Sago - the first door was the entrance and the other was an order window for takeouts. The cafe was always full of people during hot summers - who either dined in or ordered takeouts. You might have to wait if you craved for a cold drink at Sago Cafe. Though the staff were very efficient, they were also unfriendly and rude. Where : Sago Café, 39-

Sweet Red Bean Fish @ Han Ah Reum Mart (Union Street)

I was shopping at Han Ah Reum Mart at Union Street when I stumbled upon a small snack outlet in the supermarket. The tempting and delicious aroma spread throughout the supermarket but you cannot help but follow the smell to the simple booth at the far end of the supermarket. Price : Value for money. Five pieces at at $4. Quality : A simple snack made from flour and moist red bean paste will be something I love each time I visit H-Mart. The five pieces of red bean fishes were shared between the two of us. Store layout : A simple booth that sells various pastries. But the sweet red bean pastry aroma caught my senses and got me addicted to it.  "You will love it."
